For the pair, Haste designed and animated a complete visual universe for their live shows: a collection of worlds and animated characters, including 3D versions of themselves, that they can take on the road and remix night after night.
Rather than delivering a fixed film per song, we built a modular library of looping backgrounds and animated figures. Every element was made to mix and match, so a character from one world can drop into the backdrop of another, and each combination reads as part of the same universe. The result is a system with almost endless variations; no two shows need to look the same. Always keeping it firmly in the Average Rob universe: slightly absurd, never too serious.
Everything was built to run in Arena, working with layers of video clips that can be triggered, blended and synced to the music in real time, so we designed all our loops and characters as separate, stackable assets.
